How does solar pathway lighting work?

Leadsun’s solar pathway lighting is a technologically versatile, off-grid sustainable lighting solution that conserves power by dimming down to 30% capacity when there is no activity. This provides enough background light to ensure security and enough low light on accessways to maintain a sense of community, rather than isolating homes in darkness.
When any significant movement is detected – whether that be by a vehicle or a pedestrian entering the street – the unit switches to 100% output, giving enough light to identify hazards on the accessway and plenty of light to deter unwanted activity.
When zero activity is detected, the unit dims quickly, ensuring the accessway is not lit all night with an unnecessary level of light. This conserves solar power and ensures residents are not impacted by any unnecessary light during the night.
Our solar pathway lighting is controlled through wireless remote technology with an off-site wireless control that allows users to remotely monitor and configure the lighting system from anywhere in the world.

Narellan Urban Forest solar pathway and picnic shelter lighting

In consultation with police in the Camden Local Area Command, the Camden Council acquired a Crime Prevention Grant seeking a lighting solution that would deter loitering, reduce vandalism and give safe passage for local residents along a 150 m stretch of pathway in the Urban Forest, Narellan.

As every project differs in size and specifics, there is not a set price per light. However, as a rule of thumb we can fully supply and install three engineered and compliant grid-free solar pathway lighting systems for under $10,000.

Leadsun’s SMART Controller offers flexible accessibility. Its intelligent power adjustment function automatically modifies power discharge according to the remaining energy, allowing it to prolong lighting time. This in turn provides a more effective method of lighting control, minimising energy consumption and providing greater battery autonomy and operational reliability.

There is minimal maintenance required on a SMART solar pathway lighting system as it can be easily monitored with wireless technology. If anything does need attention, our lowerable pole technology makes it easy to access the technology at the top of the pole.
