Did you know there are over 304 million streetlights throughout our cities across the world and rapidly growing to over 350 million by 2025. That’s a lot! And for our local municipalities it’s their largest source of carbon emissions & energy costs? Well at Leadsun, we want to do something about that, which is why in 2008 we created the world’s first all-in-one solar powered streetlight which is grid-free. It’s what we’re passionate about.
So far, we’ve deployed over 300,000 grid-free solar-powered public lights across the world, but we know we have much more work to do which is why we’re continually looking for passionate people to help us make a difference.
Safety for all – especially women and girls
Feeling safe outdoors is important for everyone, and research shows that consistent and layered lighting – where there are multiple light sources – makes women feel most safe. This is what we provide, and it is central to our mission.
What we do
Established in 2005, Leadsun are industry leaders in smart solar public lighting. We’re growing rapidly and have a compelling story to tell.
Our revolutionary sustainable smart solar lights are economical, easy to deploy, reduce light pollution and help improve night-time safety and liveability. They’re less expensive, easier to install and better for the environment than traditional grid-based lighting.
They’re lighting up streets, parks, footpaths and suburbs all around you – and most importantly, they’re helping encourage communities to be more active and feel safer.
