Transporting the solar lights to the remote village of Kou Kou was a challenge in itself that initially involved two Leadsun representatives carrying two AE2 lights within back packs 96Kms along the famous Kokoda Trek to Kokoda Village. However, with the support of PNG Air and a team of locals on the ground, we managed to transport an additional 12 AE2 All-In-One solar lights to the college and have them installed on makeshift wooden poles crafted by the local villagers.

Providing this solar lighting technology to help create a safer learning environment and improving welfare for children within a remote location of the world has been a rewarding and positive experience.  This small contribution demonstrates the extraordinary potential of what solar powered lighting can do in being able to easily and cost-effectively light up important community spaces where there is lack of electricity.  Coupled with Leadsun’s robust, modular and long-lasting solar lighting technology, Leadsun is proud to have provided this remote community in PNG an outdoor lighting solution that will last well over 10 years without any electricity fees or costly maintenance.
